Drop In Tutoring and Physical Teaching

Drop In Tutoring and Physical TeachingDrop in tutoring is a very well-used model for teaching physic. Drop in tutoring has been used since the 60's by many leading schools to teach physic. Drop in tutoring was designed to allow a child to learn as much about something as possible without subjecting them to the rigors of regular school.Drop in tutoring is a technique where a person pays another person to spend an hour or two with the child. The parent or teacher makes arrangements with this other person, usually someone whom the child has a rapport with and is reasonably close to. It can be anyone from an old acquaintance or someone who shares the child's interests. This person will generally offer to spend some time with the child, helping them through a day of what they are learning, without asking for payment.Drop in tutoring often uses physical teachers as well as teachers that work online. A physical teacher is one who is physically present in the classroom and can do certain thi ngs such as teaching a lesson, or guide the child through a lesson, in their own words. This does not have to be one who can actually be seen in the room as they can be in a separate room or at a later date on. The physical teacher is a silent presence within the classroom who helps the child and the teacher move through a lesson. This is sometimes referred to as 'building rapport' and the teachers and the children they work with to build a rapport by being civil and looking out for the welfare of the child and helping them to learn as much as possible from the experience. When a child is ill they often have difficult times and it may help to share a smile or laugh with the child and make them feel they are valued. They may find that the teacher can assist them in a way that they would not be able to do on their own. This means that the physical teacher is not a replacement for the parent but is a complement to them. There may be no benefits gained from using the physical teacher over an adult. It is unlikely that a child will learn more from the physical teacher than if they were to be allowed to learn alone. The advantage to using a physical teacher is that they help the child to develop their skills and also guide them. Some pupils might find they can learn more from the teacher than from the child, while others find they are assisted in the ways that they need to learn. It is important to remember that it is the parent's job to see that the child is getting as much benefit as possible from the drop in tutor.Teachers who offer physical teaching in one form or another are there for the benefit of the children and to help them learn. It is very rare that they are 'so effective' in helping children to learn. The motivation is often to fill time when a child is having trouble with a problem or to help them in developing a particular skill. A parent is encouraged to keep a watchful eye on their child and ensure that they are being helped when they are having diffic ulty.It is important that a parent finds time to watch over their child and find time to ensure that they are being taught by a physical teacher. This might be parents work, or parents working through a placement agency, or parents joining up and being able to pay an hourly fee and then finding time to monitor their child.
